Kitboga’s journey into the world of "scambaiting" began in 2017. Inspired by his own grandmother who had been taken advantage of by scammers, he started researching scams and calling them while streaming it for his friends live on Twitch. The goal became to waste scammers’ time while preventing them from being on the phone with vulnerable people like his grandmother.
What started out as a small stream has grown to over 3.5 million followers. As his viewership expanded, so did his mission. Harnessing his knowledge for good, he and his team started developing solutions to help detect and prevent scams.
Scams across the world continue to grow at an exponential rate, now affecting every 1 in 4 people.
Many online scams start with a scammer gaining control of a victim’s computer through remote connection software. Once connected, they can access everything - personal files and photos, emails, social media pages, stored passwords, online banking accounts, and can even tap into webcams. What’s more frightening is that these scammers set the software up so they can retain access anytime they want from anywhere in the world, even without the victim’s knowledge.
After seeing the devastation scammers cause and driven by a mission to prevent scams before they start, Kitboga and his team created Seraph Secure, the first anti-scam software designed to proactively protect users against online scams. Seraph Secure launched in December of 2023.
